The Cosmos, our Universe, our

Energy Giving Back - Blues for Cystic Fibrosis (100% of Sales go to
the Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis'
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is adding tomorrows every day to the
lives of those with cystic fibrosis. In 1955, when the CF Foundation
was established, children with cystic fibrosis did not live to attend
elementary school. Today, thanks to wise investments made by the Foundation
in innovative research and comprehensive care, the median age of survival
for a person with cystic fibrosis is nearly 37 years.
Forbes and SmartMoney have recognized the CF Foundation for its enterprising
and efficient approach to curing a genetic disease. In 2006, almost
90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised was available for investment
in vital cystic fibrosis program services.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has taken a leadership role in the development
of promising new drugs for cystic fibrosis. Because CF is considered
an orphan disease, most biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies are
unlikely to commit resources to develop medications for CF without the
Foundation's efforts to reduce risk. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
has devised an innovative business model to ensure a commitment to drug
development that is unrivaled by any other voluntary health organization.
Currently, there are over two-dozen potential drug therapies in the
CFF Drug Pipeline.
The Foundation depends upon the generosity of individual donors, foundations
and corporations to support its vital mission.
This recording, of blues and jazz for CF is the brainchild of Geologist
and Musican James Tipton. Tyb presented the concept, and worked hard
to gather funding and support from a group of current musicians and
a musically talented collection of engineers, chemists and geologist
to help support it. The diverse group recorded at the world renown Findhorn
Studio in Scotland and Sound Arts Studio in Houston. Tyb gained support
from some world class recording artists, including Tracey Lynn, Darcie
Deauville, Lady D and the Blue Flames, Marvin Dykhuis, Dave Wilde and
Chip Dolan. Tyb plays a pretty mean blues harp, and his rifts are certainly
a pleasure to hear.The musical credits and associations of the musicians
he recruited include the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Albert Collins, Sam
and Dave, Tracey Lynn, Scotlands famed ' Cachd au Craddich' , Buck Owens,
Tish Hinojosa and Ray Wiley Hubbard.
Not only did we all have a great time doing this, we think it is some
pretty great music. Hats off to you Tyb, and to all the supporters and
musicians. We'll call this volume 1, and we hope volume 2 is not too
far away. We have internally funded this worthy project, and 100% of
your purchase price goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to Find a
Cure!
